Update 0.62

Dive into Update 0.62! Muster your Clan and defeat Sedula, the Abyssal Tyrant, earn Playbooks to upgrade your Tactics, take on Hard difficulty in the Spires, summon new Invokers to your Collection and more!

SEDULA, THE ABYSSAL TYRANT

Rising from the abyss to strike terror on the seas, Sedula the Abyssal Tyrant arrives in Update 0.62!

As teased in previous updates, Sedula is a monumental threat that cannot be defeated alone. You will need to work together with your entire Clan and deal damage as a collective, in order to send this Clan Boss back to the briny deep for another day.

Sedula unlocks at Player Level 20 and requires you to be in a Clan. Rather than a Boss with several different Stages, Sedula is broken into four separate difficulties: Normal, Hard, Insane, and Nightmare. You need to defeat Sedula on Normal to unlock Hard, defeat her on Hard to unlock Insane and so on.

7d8b6e3efb4e49319ea223c2f61679b0.webp

Rather than using Energy, you fight Sedula using an Abyssal Key. You get one Abyssal Key per day, so choose wisely as to which difficulty you select.

Once you’ve spent your Key, you get up to 5 replays to improve on the damage you dealt on your first go on the difficulty you selected. Your first replay is free, but every subsequent replay will cost you Gems. Your best result from the day will be taken as your contribution to your Clan’s damage total, so feel free to experiment.

If your Clan manages to defeat Sedula on a specific difficulty, everyone who contributed to that difficulty will receive a Pearl on the following day. So if your Clan managed to defeat Sedula on Normal and Hard, but you only contributed to defeating Sedula on Normal, you will only get the Pearl for that difficulty.

Players will also receive a Damage Chest, based on their individual contribution to defeating Sedula. You need to claim yesterday’s reward before you fight Sedula for the current day.

Keep in mind – you need to have reached the first milestone on this Personal Damage Chests track to be eligible for both the Pearl and the Damage Chest. You can’t just turn up at the last minute, deal a tiny bit of damage, and expect to reap the rewards!

Sedula changes her Element each day, cycling through the 6 Elements, as well as the neutral Element. You’ll need to tailor your team to the day’s Element, in order to rack up the most damage.

  • Monday – Water
  • Tuesday – Fire
  • Wednesday – Light
  • Thursday – Earth
  • Friday – Wind
  • Saturday – Dark
  • Sunday – Neutral
As for rewards, Sedula drops two that are exclusive to her. They are the new Spellwall Relic Set and Playbooks, which you both receive from Damage Chests. Playbooks are what allows you to upgrade Tactics.

Spellwall Relics grant you 2-Stack Willpower and a 2-Stack Immunity buff for 12s at Battle Start at 3 pieces, and then +10% HP, ATK, and DEF at 5 pieces.

Rewards are split across 2 different Chests:

  • Damage Chest – won based on your personal highest damage score each day.
  • Pearls – won if your Clan is able to defeat Sedula that day.
Damage Chests – Personal Damage Score

Guaranteed Rewards every single day
:

  • 2 Spellwall Relics
  • 1 Playbook
  • 1 Codex
One of the following rewards, dropped randomly from the chest:

  • A Divine, Destiny, or Radiant Star
  • A 3★, 4★ or 5★ Echo
  • Memorium
  • Multi-Battle Tokens
Pearls – Clan Defeating Sedula

Guaranteed Rewards every single day
:

  • 1 Rare, Epic, or Legendary Prism
One of the following rewards, dropped randomly from the chest:

  • A Dream, Wonder, or Miracle Orb
  • A 3★, 4★ or 5★ Dragonsoul
  • Memorium
  • Titan Spark
This means that regardless of what your Clan does, as long as you deal your required personal damage, you're guaranteed a Codex, a Playbook, and 2 Spellwall Relics every day – with a pretty healthy chance at getting some Stars as well.

If your Clan manages to defeat Sedula on any difficulty (and you contributed to that victory), then you're also guaranteed a Prism every day as well – alongside the randomly-dropped rewards from Pearls (like Orbs and Dragonsouls).

In terms of the fight itself, it is all about dealing as much damage as you can, as fast as you can! You cannot technically “win” against Sedula, as she’ll keep fighting even if you reduce her HP to 0 during the battle. Therefore, your goal in the fight is simply to deal damage until your Invokers are defeated, or the Ship that you are fighting on is destroyed. Sedula will always eventually destroy the Ship you’re fighting on, so pile on the pain!

You can still fight Sedula if your Clan has already defeated her for the day – you’ll rack up damage towards earning your own Damage Chest and be eligible to earn the Pearl for that difficulty.

There’s also one other quirk of the Sedula battle, and that’s that she has no Corruptions! As there’s no need to balance Boss Tolerances, make sure to gear up your Invokers for maximum offense.

Good luck out there on the seas!

TACTICS UPGRADE

One of the rewards that can be obtained from Sedula are Playbooks. These are a new upgrade resource that can be used to level up your Tactics.

To upgrade a Tactic, all you need are Playbooks and Gold. Playbooks come in three categories of ascending strength: Standard Playbooks, Heroic Playbooks, and Historic Playbooks.

Upgrading a Tactic will increase the stat boosts you gain when you slot Invokers into the specific Tactic. You can upgrade Tactics from Level 1, all the way to Level 20.

We’ve added a line of Achievements, specifically for upgrading Tactics – so get to it!

SPIRES HARD DIFFICULTY & LEADERBOARDS

Each Floor in the Spires now has a Hard equivalent, in effect adding 720 new Floors for you to tackle! You can pick between Normal or Hard whenever they take on a Floor, and change between whenever you like. You can clear the starting Floors on Hard, and then switch back to Normal when things get too challenging.

IMPORTANT! As players currently are in the middle of their October Spire climb – this particular feature will not go live in-game until November 1st, after the Spires reset. That way, everyone starts the month on a level playing field, ready to climb both the Spires and the Leaderboards!

The Hard Spire difficulty unlocks at Player Level 20, and you don’t have to have cleared the Floor on Normal to go straight to Hard. Completing a Floor on any difficulty counts towards reaching the next Floor, or any Quests or Achievements related to Spires.

Completing a Floor on Hard gives you the same rewards as on Normal, but with the added bonus of extra VIP Points. Once a Floor is cleared on either difficulty, you cannot go back to clear it on the other difficulty.

Difficulty-wise, Hard Mode Floors start at about the level of Floor 60 on Normal, so if you can clear that Floor pretty easily, give Hard Mode a try when you start next month’s rotation! We’ve also adjusted the difficulty level of Floors 91 to 120 on Normal – to account for the additional stat boosts players are now getting from levelled up Tactics, upgraded Accessories, and the Trophy Room.

0.62 also sees us adding monthly Leaderboards for the Spires, with players being scored for their climb up each individual Spire, plus their progress overall across all 6 Spires.

These Leaderboards will work similarly to the ones for Tournaments – with a Local and Global Leaderboard, and Divisions based on your Player Level. You’ll join a Leaderboard when you clear your first Spire Floor for the month, and you’ll remain in the Division you were initially placed in when you cleared your first Floor.

9f22e1c9a1f14da593fc1e6cc3921635.webp

You gain Points on the Spire Leaderboards based on the number of the Floor you’ve cleared, multiplied by the difficulty you cleared the Floor on, and then multiplied by Spire type – with Dark and Light Spire Floors earning you more Points. In case of tiebreakers, placement on the Leaderboard is determined by how quickly you finished a Spire, taking into account your clear times across the whole Spire.

Placing high on the Local or Global Leaderboard will earn you more VIP Points, and you’ll be able to see the previous month’s Leaderboard whenever a new one starts. See how fast you can climb to the top!

TITAN QUICK ASCEND

If you’re looking to Ascend your Titans en masse, you now can via Titan Quick Ascend. It’s functionally identical to Invokers Quick Ascend, so start playing around if your Titan Collection is starting to get full.

QUESTS & REWARDS

  • Wild Star “First Clear” Rewards: When clearing certain content in-game for the very first time, you’ll now receive some additional Wild Stars, on top of the pre-existing first clear rewards. Here’s what you’ll receive and where:
    • Normal Campaign – 2 Wild Stars on clearing a Level for the first time (outside of Chapter 1)
    • Hard Campaign – 2 Wild Stars on clearing a Level for the first time
    • Boss Mode – 3 Wild Stars for clearing Stages 1-10 for the first time (on any Boss)
    • Boss Mode – 5 Wild Stars for clearing Stages 11-20 for the first time (on any Boss)
    • Sorgott – 3 Wild Stars for clearing Stages 1-10 for the first time
    • Sorgott – 5 Wild Stars for clearing Stages 11-20 for the first time
  • Campaign Bonus Drops:When farming Campaign, we’ve now removed the chance of you getting nothing as a bonus item reward when you finish a Campaign Level. By removing this chance from the item pool, we’ve increased your chances of earning Wild Stars and 1★ Echoes. Here’s how the chances have changed across the Campaign difficulties:
    • Normal: now a 16.2% chance to get a 1★ Echo and a 35.5% chance to get a Wild Star as a bonus drop
    • Hard: now a 15.6% chance to get a 1★ Echo and a 33.8% chance to get a Wild Star as a bonus drop
    • Brutal: now a 13.9% chance to get a 1★ Echo and a 33.2% chance to get a Wild Star as a bonus drop. Within that Wild Star chance, you have a 18.7% chance to earn 1 Wild Star, and a 14.5% chance to get two.
  • Quest Reward Rebalance: We’ve rebalanced the rewards you get from certain Daily and Clan Quests, mainly to increase the number of Wild Stars you can regularly receive:
    • Daily Quest: Play the Game – now rewards you 25K Gold, instead of 10K Gold
    • Daily Quest: Get something from the Shop – now rewards you 10 Wild Stars, instead of 25K Gold
    • Clan Quest: Upgrade a Relic or Accessory – now rewards you 10 Wild Stars, instead of 5 Wild Stars
  • Sedula Clan Quest and Damage Achievements: We’ve added a new Clan Quest that rewards you 500 Memorium for finishing a single Sedula battle. We’ve also added a set of Achievements for dealing a set amount of damage to Sedula in a single battle, across multiple difficulties. How high a score can you rack up?
  • Clan Quests have now been hidden on the main Quest screen, and are only viewable in the Clans menu

BATTLE & GEAR

  • Dash and Movement Effect Changes: Movement effects like Push, Pull and Launch will now interrupt dashes, and said movement effects will not apply when an Invoker is affected by a Control Corruption
  • Pause Menu Updates: Enemy levels will now update correctly in the Pause Menu as the Battle progresses, rather than only showing the level of the first enemy of that type that spawns into the Battle
  • Wider Loot Spawns: Loot now spreads around its spawn location, rather than dropping in one particular spot
  • Upgraded Auto-Equip: We’ve redesigned the Auto-Equip window, now allowing you to order up to 5 Stats you wish for Auto-Equip to prioritize. We’ve also added a tutorial so you can make the most out of this feature when quickly gearing your Invokers
  • Cooldown Increase ACC/RES Check: Skills that increase a target’s Skill cooldowns now go through an ACC vs RES check, just like debuffs. Resisting the effect leaves a Skill cooldown unchanged.
    • NOTE: Lowering cooldowns for allies, as well as increasing ally cooldowns, does not go through an ACC vs RES check
  • Resisted Buffs: A resisted buff removal no longer counts as a successful removal, so Skills that have a bonus for removing a buff only trigger if a buff is actually removed
  • New Enrage Passive on Bosses: When a Boss fight surpasses a certain minute mark, the Boss will now become Enraged, gaining additional ATK at set increments. This timer starts ticking when a Boss appears, rather than when you start the Stage.
    • Ulgorim, Sakiel, Koltmos, and Galvos – they all become Enraged at 5:00, gaining +50% ATK every 30 seconds. At 6:00, this increases to +100% ATK every 30 seconds and at 7:00, this increases again to +200% ATK every 30 seconds
    • Sorgott – he becomes Enraged at 5:00, gaining +50% ATK every 30 seconds
    • Pentiax, Omnissi, and Hyxxis – they all become Enraged at 5:00, gaining +60% ATK every 30 seconds. At 6:00, this increases to +120% ATK every 30 seconds
    • Yskara – she becomes Enraged at 4:30, gaining +30% ATK every 30 seconds. At 5:00, this increases to +60% ATK every 30 seconds and at 6:00, it increases again to +120% ATK every 30 seconds
    • Althar – he becomes Enraged at 3:20, gaining +50% ATK and +20% Skill Recovery every 20 seconds. This doubles to +100% ATK and +40% Skill Recovery every 20 seconds at 6:00, and then doubles again at 7:00 to +200% ATK and +80% Skill Recovery every 20 seconds
      • For 99.5% of players, you will never see a Boss in their Enraged state, as most fights are finished in under 4 minutes
      • For the 0.5% who have fights stretch past the 4 minute mark, they most often stretch on for 10 minutes and end in defeat anyway. Adding this Enrage Passive prevents those additional 5 to 6 minutes of dead time, and also decreases the load on the server – ensuring a smoother gameplay experience for all
      • Sedula already has an Enrage as part of her Passive Skills, with her ATK increasing every time she surfaces
  • Added missing Passive Skill text for Sorgott’s Crypt Rats

Consecutive messages from the same player are now grouped together in Chat, rather than the player’s Avatar and name repeating for each individual message.

INVOKER & TITAN REBALANCES

0.62 sees a massive wave of Invoker and Titan rebalances, affecting nearly every Faction in game, as well as updates to Invoker and Titan Skill descriptions.

As the scale of the rebalance is so big (and would make this update news incredibly long!), we’ve made a separate news article that just covers the balance changes. Make sure to check it out!

BUG FIXES AND MISC

  • Changed the design of the button which switches between Relics and Accessory in your Gear Room
  • Added a tutorial for Accessories in the Invoker Overview tab
  • Improved the criteria for assigning an Invoker or Titan the #AoE hashtag – Invokers will only receive it if two of their Active Skills hit as an AoE attack, and Titans if one of their two Skills hit as an AoE. Team heals and buffs do not count towards the AoE tag, and neither do Combo Attacks or Titan Invokations
  • When selecting a Clan Boss to fight, the last Clan Boss you fought will now be highlighted
  • Fixed a variety of visual bugs where the Titan Invokation button would get stuck in the wrong state, along with Skill buttons sticking
  • You can now hide your email address when in the Accounts tab of the Settings menu

NEW INVOKERS

4 new Invokers arrive alongside this update!

  • Cataphrax the Grave. Legendary, Nocturna, Earth, Melee Attacker.
