Choosing the right starter in Invoker’s Titan Legacy can make or break your early progression. Our Team has spent extensive time testing every starting character to see who provides the best value, not just in the beginning, but as you push toward the endgame. Here is our definitive guide to the starter roster and how you should build them.
Our Top Pick: Dannos (Lightseekers faction)
In our testing, Dannos proved to be the undisputed king of starters. He is a light-attribute powerhouse who excels as an all-arounder.- The Kit: His Sacral Spike is one of his most important tools because it applies Shock, which prevents enemies from moving or using skills while increasing the damage they take. His ultimate, Winds of Serenity, allows him to move while dealing massive damage that scales based on his current HP.
- The Build: We recommend a five-piece Crit Rate set combined with a three-piece Attack set. Focus on sub-stats like Combo Speed, Attack %, and Mana Gen. If you find him dying too quickly, you can pivot to a Vampire or HP set for more self-sustain.
- Verdict: He consistently produced the highest damage and fastest clear times in almost every boss encounter we tested.
Our Second Pick: Selisa (Eldrin faction)
If you prefer a ranged playstyle with high utility, Selisa is a great second-place pick.- The Kit: She brings a massive 35% Defense Down debuff with her Biting Shadow skill, which ramps up the damage for your entire party. She also provides crowd control with stuns and movement speed debuffs. A unique trait of hers is a 40% damage increase against targets immune to control debuffs, making her surprisingly effective against bosses.
- The Build: We suggest a universal Crit and Attack build. Prioritise Attack %, Accuracy (to land that defense break), and Combo Speed.
- Verdict: While she didn’t clear bosses as fast as Dannos, her ability to stay out of the fray and weaken enemies makes her incredibly reliable.
Our Third Pick: Kalix (Lightseekers faction)
Kalix takes the third spot on our list due to her consistency, even if she requires a more specific team to shine.- The Kit: She is a ranged attacker who focuses on stacking Burn debuffs. Her ultimate, Duality of Light, is fantastic because it can instantly detonate existing burns for a burst of damage.
- The Build: Focus on Accuracy and Attack sets. Because she relies on skills, look for Skill Speed, Skill Recovery, and Mana Gen in your sub-stats.
- Verdict: She performs well in AoE scenarios like the Spire, but be careful in high-level boss fights; we noticed she can sometimes be knocked out of her ultimate animation, wasting the move.
Our Fourth Pick: Silanth (Nocturna faction)
Silanth is a dark-attribute unit that is excellent for the early to mid-game but starts to fall off as you reach the true endgame.- The Kit: Her biggest strength is her Resistance Down debuff, which helps your other units land their status effects. She also applies Bleeds that scale based on enemy HP.
- The Build: We found an Accuracy and Attack build is essential for her to function. Much like Dannos, she can also work well with a Vampire set for added survivability.
- Verdict: She is a “mob slayer” who excels in the Spire and Campaign. However, we don’t recommend heavy long-term investment because certain endgame bosses actually benefit when you apply bleeds to them, making her a liability in those specific fights.
Our Last Pick: Malgar (Ironbands faction)
Malgar lands in our final slot. While he isn’t bad, he simply lacks the extra utility that the other starters provide.- The Kit: He is a pure damage dealer who focuses on launching enemies. His ultimate provides a Combo Speed up buff, which is his bread and butter for generating enough mana to summon his Titan.
- The Build: Use the same Crit and Attack setup as Dannos. You’ll want Accuracy if you want to ensure his launches connect, but otherwise, stack raw Attack.
- Verdict: He is a damage dealer through and through, but he offers nothing else to the team. Without a high-tier support unit to enable him, you will likely find better options as you progress.
